In Vivo Genotoxicity and Toxicity Assessment of Sterigmatocystin Individually and in Mixture with Aflatoxin B1

چکیده
Mycotoxins are natural food and feed contaminants produced by several molds. The primary mode of exposure in humans animals is through mixtures. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) sterigmatocystin (STER) structurally related mycotoxins that share the same biosynthetic route. Few vivo genotoxicity assays have been performed with STER. In present study, Wistar rats were dosed orally STER (20 mg/kg b.w.), AFB1 (0.25 b.w.) or a mixture both an integrated micronucleus (bone marrow) comet study (liver kidney). was at highest feasible dose corn oil. No increase percentage micronuclei bone marrow observed any condition. Slight DNA damage detected livers treated (DNA strand breaks Fpg (Formamidopyrimidine glycosylase)-sensitive sites, respectively). Plasma, liver, kidney samples analyzed LC-MS/MS demonstrating to mycotoxins. General toxicity parameters (organs absolute weight, biochemistry, histopathology) not altered either individually mixture. overall absence individual did allow us set type interaction However, possible toxicokinetic observed.

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

testing plays a vital role in any language teaching program. it allows teachers and stakeholders, including program administrators, parents, admissions officers and prospective employers to be assured that the learners are progressing according to an accepted standard (douglas, 2010). the problems currently facing language testers have both practical and theoretical implications but the first i...
Proapoptotic activity of aflatoxin B1 and sterigmatocystin in HepG2 cells
Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and sterigmatocystin (ST) are two hepatocarcinogenic mycotoxins that are commonly coexisted in cereal grains, and their co-proapoptotic activity in HepG2 cells was studied. The values of IC50, which is the dosage of mycotoxin resulting in a 50% cell growth inhibition measured by a sulforhodamine B (SRB) colorimetric assay, were 16.9 μM and 7.3 μM for AFB1 and ST, respectivel...

15 صفحه اولAssessment of aflatoxin B1 myocardial toxicity in rats: mitochondrial damage and cellular apoptosis in cardiomyocytes induced by aflatoxin B1
Objective The number of deaths from heart disease is increasing worldwide. Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1), a toxin produced by the fungi Aspergillus flavus and Aspergillus parasiticus, is frequently detected in improperly processed/stored human food products. While AFB1 hepatotoxicity and carcinogenic properties have been well addressed, its myocardial toxicity is poorly documented. This study aimed to in...
